Finance Council

This group of volunteers advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish and school. It is responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.

Offertory Counters

This is the group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. Volunteers are on a rotating schedule to count about once a month.

Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC is involved in most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of  each of our  parishes.  Joint meetings of all councils are held at the request of the Pastor.

Stations of the Cross

This devotion is held Wednesday evenings at each parish during Lent, followed by soup and fellowship in the parish halls.  Check the page of each parish for the time.

Ushers are our volunteers who welcome attendees,  assist in seating people when necessary and assisting with other situations that might arise.  They also take up the collection.

Men’s Organizations

All men are welcome to participate in the parish groups.  The Knights of Columbus are active in St. Columban's, sponsoring various fundraisers to help the needy in our county.  The organization has a strong faith-building focus. In each parish there is a group of men who do not meet regulary, but  who  respond to the call for assistance  with various projects in the church, such as fundraisers, cleanup projects, and social events.  Questions? Please email the coordinator at for more information.

Altar Server

Boys and girls from grade 3 and above are trained to  assist the priest at the liturgy. Currently our volunteers are scheduled once or twice per 2 month schedule.

Eucharistic Minister

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound.

Fellowship Committee

Volunteers  coordinate social activities and gatherings of parishioners during the year.

Flowers and Grounds

Volunteers  care for and beautify the grounds and church, particularly during Easter and Christmas seasons.  Help is always needed for the parish garden each growing season.  Produce is shared with the local food shelf and is used for parish meals for our students.

Parish volunteers warmly welcome parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass.

Readers  proclaim the Scriptures at Mass and other services.  Volunteers are usually scheduled once every two months.

Liturgical Linens Care

Responsible for the preparation and care of the altar linens, the duties of our "altar angels"  include the washing and ironing of purificators, corporals, and altar linens.

Rite of Christian Initiation leaders assist our pastor with preparation of adult candidates for Cathlic sacraments.

Regular duties for these volunteers include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass, as well as assisting with preparing for special liturgies.  A schedule is established for volunteers so that no one is responsible weekly.
